Nuclear Seed Potatoes

Seed Potatoes in the Greenhouse

All seed potatoes produced in Canada originate from nuclear seed, which is the first generation potatoes produced from disease-free tissue culture stock grown under sterile, protected conditions. The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) regulates seed potato production and certification in Canada. Commercial producers use nuclear seed potatoes to help guarantee healthier, higher quality and more abundant potato yields. Since 2000, Prairie Plant Systems has produced nuclear seed potatoes which are available both as nuclear stock plantlets and as nuclear seed tubers. Alongside our exceptional products, PPS delivers uncompromising customer service and a nuanced understanding of the industry you won't find elsewhere. We're willing and able to go the extra mile to make sure your needs are met and exceeded.

PPS has experience culturing the following potato varieties:

  • AC Peregrine
